NORESCO completes energy audits in compliance with AHRAE Level I, II, and III audit standards as appropriate. For resource efficiency projects we further utilize a rigorous three-step process that ensures the comprehensiveness and technical feasibility of proposed measures as well as cost savings accuracy. First, savings calculations undergo a peer review to ensure that savings calculations observe industry best practices incorporate appropriate measurement and verification activities (including metering) to ensure accuracy. Second, an engineering manager performs an independent review of proposed measures and savings calculations. Third, the overall savings from the project are “benchmarked”, or compared, against NORESCO’s proprietary database of building energy use and energy savings potential. This benchmarking process allows us to take a “big picture” view of the overall energy savings and assess the current and future performance of the building against similar buildings in our database. In addition, NORESCO employs the most highly skilled engineers in the industry, including more than 70 licensed professional engineers and more than 50 certified energy managers in key project development and design engineering roles. Construction quality control is equally rigorous. For example, construction managers complete a site safety and health plan for every project; construction budgets are prepared in a standard format and are reviewed and approved by senior management; project costs are tracked and require management review and approval; detailed project schedules are created and actively maintained; insurance NORESCO is fully bonded and insured with A-rated providers and insurance certificates are produced for every project to demonstrate that coverage meets or exceeds project requirements; progress meetings are convened with the customer at least weekly, and more frequently if necessary. Performance based project savings are measured and verified utilizing industry standard Federal Energy Management Program guidelines and International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol. LEED consulting engagements and service delivery, including LEED EBOM, is conducted in strict adherence to prescribed United States Green Building Council standards.
